Thank you for saying this. I think we've become such a revenue culture, especially on line where content can't be JUST content it seems that if there's no ROI or monetization of your site it's deemed irrelevant.

I don't need or want ads on websites I frequent actually. They detract from my primary point of visiting the site often to the point of driving me AWAY from what I wanted there.

This whole idea that a site must generate revenue, just by dint of existing irritates me to no end. I have no duty to watch, read or click ads if I don't want to and the OP of the article you are refuting should realize that.

Hi James,

Thanks for the writeup on the Zooburst project! To answer your question about external media - PNG file uploads will be fully supported in Zooburst. In fact, you can see an example of them in action if you check out the newly released public demo book:

http://blog.zooburst.com/2010/03/demo-version-of-the-zooburst-viewer-is-now-online/

Once you launch the viewer you can flip to page #3 to see an example of a PNG with and without transparency.

Thanks again!

Oh, there's also the concept of the Anti-Walkthrough--a guide to completing the game NOT as intended. In a way this could be taken as critique (of the intended linearity, if nothing else). This one for Oblivion is pretty great:
